I just found out why Japan is awesome and we in the U.S. are stupid circle the drain Neanderthals. It's because we don't support science and technology. I would say that we do a little, but not like Japan. Japan, as I just found out, in 2004-2005, Spent 65% of their governments money on the ministry of science and education (MEXT). Most of this money was spent on things like scientific R&D.
We don't even pay teachers a decent wage here. In Japan 65% of their money is thrown at being smarter than everybody else in the world!
And if you want to compare, we spend more money than any other country in the world, and we spend that on making weapons and training soldiers. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that, but I personally think that we are being shown up here and all the military spending in the world won't protect you from giant robots.
Good job Japan, have fun ruling the free world after you achieve science based ways to ascend to a higher a higher plane of existence.

I agree. We take for granted our Super Power abilities in the world but look how everyone else is catching up. India and China are walking up to the world stage with mass population alone! Let alone their own technilogical growth.
But let us not get too far down on ourselves. We have what most countries in the world don't, a creative, entreapenurial spirit, and a drive to succeed. Don't forget our kick butt, patriotic spirit.
Science and technology are the future, not just the keys, but the future. People keep saying we are competing in a global enviornment. Companies are upping the anty and their technology every day for profit share against their global competitors. I think the U.S. government should take a hint from their corporations and start updating its product. What is it? We are.
